Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we do with it, and — just as importantly — what we never do with it. It applies to all visitors and customers of pickmyvenue.in and complies with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India.
1. What We Collect
You provide: name, phone, email, event date, guest count, city, locality and any details you share about your event when you submit an enquiry, use the planner wizard or create an account.
Collected automatically: device type, browser, approximate location (city-level from IP), pages viewed and referring URL — used solely for analytics and fraud prevention.
Cookies: we use essential cookies for session management and aggregated analytics cookies (Google Analytics / Meta Pixel). You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
2. How We Use It
We use your information to match you with the right venues and vendors, to send you quotes and updates over phone, WhatsApp and email, to improve future recommendations and to comply with legal obligations. We may share your enquiry only with the specific partners shortlisted for your event — never with unrelated lead networks.
3. What We Never Do
We do not sell your contact details. We do not syndicate enquiry data to third-party lead networks. We do not share your information with vendors who weren't matched to your enquiry.
4. Data Retention
Active enquiries are retained for up to 24 months to support your event and any follow-up bookings. Account data is retained for the life of your account. After deletion or the retention period, data is permanently removed from production databases within 30 days; backups roll off within 90 days.
5. Data Security
All data is stored in encrypted Supabase Postgres databases hosted in India. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Row-Level Security policies isolate every customer's data. We use TLS 1.3 for every transfer and rotate access keys regularly.
6. Your Rights (DPDP Act)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you, (b) request correction of inaccurate data, (c) request erasure of your data, (d) withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time, (e) nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of incapacity, and (f) lodge a grievance. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@pickmyvenue.in from your registered email address. We action verified requests within 30 days.
7. Third-Party Processors
We use a small number of trusted processors to operate the platform: Supabase (database & auth), Lovable Cloud (hosting), Google Analytics (aggregated traffic), Meta Pixel (ad performance) and FormSubmit (transactional email delivery). Each processor is bound by their own privacy policy and standard data-protection terms.
8. Children's Privacy
PickMyVenue is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 14 days.
10. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the DPDP Act, 2023, our Grievance Officer can be contacted at privacy@pickmyvenue.in. We acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
11. Contact

12. Third-Party Content & Imagery
Images, logos and brand material on venue, vendor and service listings are sourced from partners or other publicly available sources — we do not claim ownership of any third-party imagery. If you are a rights holder and would like content removed, please follow the takedown process described in our Terms of Service (section 8a).
